Massively useful for excessive trade spammers in public chat. Theres a couple (naming no names) who just always always seem to be in Droks and filling my chat screen screen with their yelling.

Solution: Add those people to your ignore list you want to ignore. Most of those people are probably temporary ignores, keep them there for a few days and then take them off. Chances are you'll never hear from them again. You'll forget about them, and they'll forget about you. If indeed you have a few certain people that are persistant, give them a little more time on your ignore list, and the same thing will happen... They'll forget about you in due time. I've only had 1 person that i needed to keep on my ignore list for longer than a day, and it actually took 4 months to get that kid off my back, anyway he's been off my list for 3 months now, and i havnt heard from him. But even if I do, that's still only 1 person on my ignore list, and maybe a few temporary one here and there. IMO there's no need to have huge list of ignores.

If your list is full, just remove all the ones you've had on there for a while, and my bet is you'll never hear from them again anyway.
If this doesnt solve your full list problems, then the problem probably resides within' yourself not the people on your list.

Is this true? If so i'd have to say they really need to seperate the lists and create different caps for each list. My FL isnt full so I dont have this problem, but I can understand why this would suck if you do have a full friends list /signed (to seperate the lists)

But i'll also stand by my word that there's really no reason to have a huge ignore list.

/signed.

But it needs to be updated. How many players are there? Then the list should be exactly that minus one. You make my list, you're there forever.
Still talking to me? Don't know, don't care. Still talking in other channels? Don't know, don't care. Still play? Don't know, don't care.

But, guess what? The person you added doenst care either. You leaving them on your list, and wasting your own space is your own fault. A-net shouldn't have to give you more just cause of your carelessness. Make up a better excuse. And, like I mentioned earlier... there is usually no need to leave someone on your ignore list for that long. Hence the word "ignore". Drop em' and forget about it.

o-wait... unless your the kind of person that likes to hold grudges???

The problem with the ignore list being so short is not on my part, it's on the part of not being any repurcussions for harrassing players. It's easy to harrass online, you don't have to worry about getting your face smashed in.

I'd really like to see these people harrass someone in real life; kind of hard to talk with a busted up face, or a gunshot to the head.

The problem with the ignore list being so short is not on my part, it's on the part of ignorant people breeding, bringing in even more ignorant people into this world.

Nothing brings a person to a higher level of education faster than several swift, very hard kicks in the seat of the pants. Funny, I never had to kick someone more than twice...

HaHa, funny! Grandma doesn't come to visit anymore, something about not liking to be kicked swiftly or very hard in the seat of the pants. She only took one kick about coming over!

But I digress.

Both sides of longer ingnore lists/ no longer ignore lists have valid points. However, I'd say the majority feel the ignore lists should be longer.

majority havn't said anything but "/signed" but imo, that's no good, cause the majority will always /sign to have anything that gives them more. There's gotta be a valid reason behind it. It's human nature to want more. But i'm here to say that more really isnt needed. Really though its not.

Now.. there is was valid suggestion that was made in this topic, and that was that if indeed the friend list and the ignore list cap are the same (meaning if I have a full f-list and i want to add somebody to my ignore list, then i have to delete a friend to make room for an ignore). If this is true, Then it should be changed. There should be seprate caps for each list.

Again, if you need room on your ignore list, then all you gotta do is delete the old ones you have on there. If they all msg you within' the next day after you take them off, then you have a valid point, if they dont then there's nothing needed here.

**
Now, here's some other nice things we could do with the friends list.
1. Be able to create your own catagories (ie. friend, pvp, pve, family, Ally *guild name*). And like was mentioned somewhere else.. it would be nice to be able to make theese collapseable.
2. Give the option to "show location" kinda like apprear online/offline/away... it would be like that, but instead it would show your location. Anyone who plays xbox360 avidly with friends know how nice this is.
3. Also i read somewhere else this too. Teleport to friends location. (of course you would have to have the area unlocked on that character). This for me would be way nice when joining up with people to pvp, or just do a mission. (still it's for the lazy, but it's a suggestion).
4. Give friends a different color. kinda like you guildmates colors are different when your in towns, or allies are orange. It would be cool to be able to see your friends in a different color the same way.

I'd wager that you don't do much:
a) Trading
b) PVE with pugs
c) Female ele dancing

Ignoring people just prevents them from pming you, you can still see what they post in public chat.

kaya, your idea is great. (See above post)
I'm forever having people pm me "Hi" and not remembering how I know them. That and me pming them asking "Is this a good time to compelte auction trade?" when it turns out they're someone I met recently in HA or something. ¬_¬

Heh everyone's just making a big fuzz about everything...they'll stop pm'ing if you don't reply...you're probably like:
Someone: "u suck lol"
You: "OMFG STFU IM GONNA @#*@#(! REPORT U U #*@#*( @#*"
/ignore

Just ignore em by not replying, that's more annoying for them than when you put em your ignore list, because then they feel like they've reached the goal of totally pissing you off and makes them feel good.

OR, you're just a @#*(@# scammer that needs to put everyone on their ignorelist so the victims won't be able to ask their money back :P

Ignore for 5min, remove. Most of the time, people just stop bothering you after like 2min. For people that are absolutely retarded, ignore them, PM them saying "Don't you hate it when people ignore you and keep talking to you?" That usually gets them to 1) stfu 2) not talk to you anymore. After 5 min, just remove them. I guarantee that they will not msg you back.

^I wish I had an option such as that.

/signed. I don't have many people on ignore, and if I do I take them off in a week or so. I however, see this as a useful idea in the future.
